We all have to deal with gender stereotypes – every day. This concerns their pluralization, but also their persistent effect. It also applies for counseling. For the person asking for help as well as for the counselor. Men, according to a still widespread stereotype, are not in need of help. In fact, men’s vulnerability is still often made a taboo, both individually and in society as a whole.
Men’s counselling is sensitive for the effectiveness of stereotypes and requirements of masculinity. It provides support for boys, men and fathers in various challenging life situations.
This website is provided by the Bundesforum Männer (Federal Forum for Men) – Interest Association for Boys, Men and Fathers. We are a non-governmental umbrella organisation for German organisations working with boys, men and fathers. We advise governmental organisations, ministries, political groups and parties. The head office is located in Berlin.
